It's a strange thing, life. Sometimes you just don't know what will happen or how to react when it does.

Unfortunately my friend Bob didn't recover, he passed away yesterday. I wish I had kept in touch with him a bit more over the last three or four years. He was a good bloke, not the most politically correct person in the world nor the most subtle, but he had a way about him that I really liked. I remember going to the Astoria in London with him to see Stray, Nazareth and Uriah Heep, that was a great night and we both enjoyed it a lot.

Goodbye Bob, take it easy mate.

Christmas is a funny time of year, not in a belly laugh sort of way but just purely odd, and New Year isn't much too far behind it really.

It was good, but I'm not a big fan, never have been really.

So here we are in 2008, and nothing really changes much. Things are pretty much the same for us as they were in 2007, Pete gets bigger every day and learns more, Niki is doing ok although has had some down times lately (partly due to lack of sleep and partly just because she's felt a bit down), and me I'm on the same rollercoaster and have recently dropped down a dip but am riding it out waiting for the up-swing.

At the moment a friend of mine that I haven't seen in quite a while is in hospital and things aren't looking too good for him, I hope that whatever happens he doesn't suffer and that his family come out of it ok. It has made me think once again about my own mortality, not that it's ever really too far from my thoughts, and finding myself unsure about many things.
